The Third Checkered Background


This is the third checkered background; outline it and draw it and gild it, as you see it here in the following two circles. §

After that paint the colors in with a pen, blue, red, and green, but no brazilwood color, and distribute the colors as you please; and then take the black and outline only the gold, and put into the blue, red, and green sections little crosses, as is shown here.

After that take lead white and heighten the blue with it, as is shown here; and the red and green heighten with lead yellow, as is shown here in the first circle; and after that make yellow and white, as here in the second circle.
