The Göttingen Copy of the Gutenberg Bible

As we have already described, every copy of the B42 Bible was unique owing to the individual illustrations (see Chapter: The Work of the Books, the forty-two line Latin Bible).

In the Göttingen Bible, the hand-written column headings are in red missal script. Missal script is a large type used in missals. The letters were quite large in such missals in order to facilitate reading them in the dark church interiors.
